Busy Busy Beeees!

Well it has been a busy week in our house!  But I do have to start with the bad news...Dinamo lost by 2pts at Brindisi!  It was a game they could have won, but it just didnt happen!  The only good thing about the game was that it was on TV so I was able to watch it from home.  Such a nice change from the play by play on the computer!  Tony said it was good to see all the old fans and friends back at Brindisi, but it would have been better if they could have won (of course)!

Other bad sports news was that my Brother's team lost to Oregon on Saturday!  They have a bye this weekend so hopefully they will get rested up and be ready to go against UCLA on the road.

Last week was especially busy for me!  I am now teaching Tuesday and Thursday nights and then practicing on Wednesday and Friday nights.  I had my first solo teaching experience on Thursday.  I showed up for class, that I am supposed to be teaching with another teacher, and found out that she had another class that night across the hall and I was teaching on my own tonight!  I could tell she was worried about me because she knew I didn't know I was teaching on my own, so I wouldn't have anything prepared...which I didn't!  But she told me just to go for it..haha!  I started out a little slow, but then once we started just having a conversation in slow English it was great!  At the end of the class I asked my three students how it was, and they seemed to really enjoy it, so that made me happy! 

I am excited to go back this week and step up my game :)


Then on Wednesday and Friday I had basketball practice.  They switched my practice days so it would work with my class.  But then after Friday night the coach told me that I might be able to play with a lower level team in actual games!  He went on to tell me that I would now start practicing with both teams on Wed and Fri!  So back to back practices...it should be interesting.  Of course we are going to look at the schedule and make sure we don't play on Sunday's because I can't miss Tony's games, but it might work out! 

It was nice to relax on Saturday and Sunday, but great to have Tony back on Monday morning.  We just relaxed, and enjoyed a restful day...and made some No-bake cookies :)

A beautiful sunny Monday on Oct. 26th

 

We are looking forward to a fast week of activities and then we get to see our parents next week!  I am flying to Antwerp to meet my mom and dad which I am sooo excited about!  And then I get home to the Binetti's here for a week!  We love having our families come to visit, so we are excited for a great couple of weeks :)

DINAMO Wins!

Dinamo played a great game last night and won 102-86!  Jesi was with us the whole time until Tony sparked a great run at the end of the 3rd quarter by hitting back to back 3's in the last 40 seconds!  The team went on to finish them off in the 4th quarter with a great win :)  Dinamo is now 2-1 in season and heading into two road games.  Next week they will travel to Brindisi (our old stomping grounds) and then off to Rimini.  Road games are not easy in Italy...the fans are crazy and the refs seem to favor the home team no matter where you are...so two road games in a row will be tough.  But it would be so great to beat Brindisi ;)

It was a great week of basketball in our house!  Tony's team with a great win, and I practiced three times this week because a girl got hurt, so they needed me :).  Basketball has been getting more fun for me as I get in better basketball shape and I am learning the plays.  I got tickets for some of the girls on the team, so they were at Tony's game so that was fun to have them there.  My new Italian friends :)


The only bummer of the weekend was my brother's team lost in a heartbreaking game against Arizona State.  A.S.U. threw a 50yd touchdown pass with 17seconds on the clock!  My brother did well...but it was still a hard lose for the team.  Now it is looking like they need to win 3 more games to try to get to a bowl...but I think they can do it!




Well we are heading into the 11th week in Sassari and the time seems to be flying by!  We get to see both of our parents in the next couple weeks so we are really looking forward to seeing them!  That is all for now...

Basketball and Football

This week Tony's team played @ Imola and it was a bummer lose!  It came down to a last second shot and we missed it...

I was watching the game on play by play on the computer so those games are always the hardest to watch because you are just waiting for the page to refresh to see if we scored or not.  And this time the ticker was against us.  So we are now 1-1 in the season!

However there was a great win this weekend for our family...the UW football team!!  Talk about a crazy game to watch on play by play!  The Huskies pulled out an incredible win against Arizona.  The scored 15pts in 18 seconds...really that is pretty amazing.  My little brother had a great tackle and the press happened to think so too.  There was a half page picture of my brother's tackle in the Seattletiemes.com.  So proud of him, and wishing I could be at these games!

Also exciting this week is that I think I found myself a job teaching English!  I have a meeting tonight at the office to talk about all the details.  We will see if it all comes together :)  I am proud of myself because I found this all by myself!  I saw a sign for an English school, called the number, and then went up and met with the man that day!  So no help from Tony or the team :)!  But really it would be great to have something like this to do, and I feel like it will help me improve on my Italian too.  The only bad thing is that it cuts into my bball practice...bummer. But maybe I can make it work. 

Tony's game will be home this week against Jesi, so of course looking forward to having Tony home the whole week :)


Oh and Happy Birthday to Umpa (my grandpa)!!  Wish I could have been at breakfast yesterday to celebrate :)

First Game...First WIN!

Well Dinamo opened their season with a great win against Pistoia!  It was close game all the way through but they pulled it out for a win at home!  We are both so happy that the season has officially started...it was about time!  Here are few pictures from Tony warmnig up and doing an interview after the game.  He did the entire interview in Italian...he is such a stud :)

 

Also, on Tony's day off we headed to Porto Cervo where everything closes down for the entire winter so we tried to catch the few places that were still open!  Have you ever heard of a city closing down from October through March...only in Italy!  We found out that they box all their merchandise up and ship it to Milan or Rome to sell in those stores.  Crazy!  I wonder if my dad has ever thought about shutting down for the summer??  Anyway...it is a beautiful town with an incredible marnia and view :) 

OH and today was very exciting for me because Tony got me a purse I have been wanting for a long time!  I am cashing it in as my Christmas and birthday present this year too ;)  I am sooo happy in the picture!!  haha!

 

 

It was a great day together and we really feel so blessed to be able to jump in a car and drive to a new city in Italy every weekend.  We hope that all of our family and friends get to come and visit at some point too because we love sharing this!

Tony's off to play Imola this weekend, so I will keep you posted :)

BBall for All

So it's officially the first game of the season today!!  We woke up to a beautiful 75 degree sunny day...yes on OCT 4th!  Tony's first game is home against Carmatica Pistoia, it should be a good game tonight, but I think it will be a DINAMO win :)  The game starts at 6:15 and you can watch the box score at legaduebasket.it  if you are a super fan :)

Also new in our house is that I found a team to practice with in a city about 30mins away!  I have practiced two times, and I am really enjoying it.  I am not exactly in bball shape haha, but I am working on it.  I haven't really played that much in the last three years, so getting back into it will probably take me a couple of weeks :)  The girls are so nice though which makes it easier on me, and the coach speaks English so that of course makes it much better! 

I can't play in the games but I just love having something fun to do that gets me involved with new people and gets me out of the house :)  

I will try to get some pictures of the first game tonight and post about a victorious night in the Binetti home :)
